Hole lot of bother: Alex Curran gets caught in a gust of wind as she leaves the hairdressers in Liverpool with leggings complete with tears in both knees

Presumably, the perennially glamorous Alex Curran is rather too image conscious to be seen in public wearing ripped leggings, unless, of course, the look was intentional.

The WAG sported the odd style as she left the hairdressers in Liverpool yesterday, with holes in both knees of her jogging pants.

She teamed them with a top from Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve collection, a pricey Hermes Birkin bag and Converse trainers.

Holey knees are not exactly at the fashion forefront at the moment, but there is every chance that the 27-year-old could be attempting to start a new trend.

The mother of two emerged from the salon with her mane having being finely coiffed and curled at the bottom.

However she was caught out by a gust of blustery wind, which played havoc with her tresses as she made a dash for her car.

Alex and her England captain boyfriend Steven Gerrard have recently returned from a summer break together in Ibiza.

Trendsetter: Presumably the rips were intentional and the WAG was making some kind of fashion statement

They appeared happy and relaxed together during their holiday last month, despite recent internet rumours their marriage was under strain.

The WAG has been doing her bit in a bid to keep in shape too, having gone on a special diet and exercise regime over the past few months.

She wrote in her OK! column recently: 'I was trying to go to the gym as much as possible before the break to get in shape for the beach but I still feel a bit wobbly, which I’m devastated about.

'Although as soon as we arrived, we relaxed and started pigging out! We’ve had a few barbecues and we’ve been out for a few meals.'
